| The
works are suggestive of a city's grimed structures with layered histories
of function and ownership, casting their shadows and shaping our routes
and sensibilities. Each
one might just be a small fragment of an infrastructural urban world
where inhabitness can be transient and isolated but is lit with the
human energy and brio that is inexpungible: a small scrutiny of decayed
exteriors or a squint through urban dilapidation to the compartmented:apartmented
interiors. |
The individual, despite confinement or separation or exclusion, can find incorporation, here represented by these radiances. The city as exactor is met with our adaptiveness. Shown in subdued ambient light, the work's illuminations surmise about the fluctuations of our thriving, give inklings of refuge, ward, vigil and confirm optimism: within these devices, a celebration of vitality and potency. |
